Scope of work and Specifications Replacement of shingles and roofing felt on the Salt Dome at the Peoria County Highway North Station, 15017 Evans Mill Road, Princeville, IL 61559. The wood roof structure rests on a 6'-0 tall concrete foundation wall. The diameter of the dome is approximately 80' to 82'. The height from the top of the concrete floor to the peak is approximately 45'-0 */-. Visual inspection of the roof and structure is recommended as there is some rotted plywood roof sheathing that needs to be replaced, and a base flashing detail to cover over. CertainTeed Landmark Pro Shingle with the CertainTeed self-adhering weatherstrip, CertainTeed water resistant underlayment, CertainTeed starter strip, and CertainTeed hip/ridge cap will be used to complete the project per the manufacturer's installation requirements for a steep slope roof. o Color of shingles and base flashing to be determined by owner. o References to CertainTeed are minimum specifications for materials to be used. Any equivalent product will be considered. Equivalent products will be subject to the approval of the County o Strip the shingles and any roofing base layer from the roof o Clean and remove any shingle nails that remained projected up in the plywood o Remove any rotted and damaged plywood from the framing members o Replace any rotted structural framing material in the vicinity of the existing hole o Replace the damaged plywood with a CDX plywood that matches the thickness of the existing plywood o The plywood should be glued with a construction adhesive to the structural members o The new plywood should be fastened with a 2 1/2 " long, 8D galvanized exterior framing nail o The edges of the replacement plywood may have to be planed so as to butt flush with the edge of the adjacent existing plywood o Fabricate and install a new break metal cap to install over the existing base metal and drop leg, projecting up the roof plywood approximately 6". Metal to be a minimum of 24 gauge. Color to be chosen by owner o Install 1 horizontal row, 3'-0 tall of CertainTeed self-adhesive weatherstrip such as "Winterguard" around the entire lower perimeter, covering the 6" break metal leg o Install the CertainTeed water resistant underlayment, such as "Roof Runner" or "Diamond Deck" over the entire roof o Install a CertainTeed starter strip under the first row of shingles for the entire roof o Install the CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles per the manufacturers steep slope specifications to meet all warranty requirements. Install step flashing where needed alongside of the entranceway walls o Install 1 new box vent near the peak in each of the 20 shingled bays.
