Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified Contractor to provide milling and resurfacing improvements to various roads within Lee County, Florida. Work shall include, but not limited to; milling, resurfacing, restriping, ADA upgrades and minor signal work to accommodate ADA upgrades. Question Deadline 09/05/2024 Any inquiries, suggestions or requests concerning interpretation, clarification or additional information pertaining to the Bid shall be made in writing GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK SUMMARY 1.1 Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified Contractor to provide milling and resurfacing improvements to various roads within Lee County, Florida. Work shall include, but not limited to; milling, resurfacing, restriping, ADA upgrades and minor signal work to accommodate ADA upgrades. 1.2 All work performed shall follow all Federal, State, Local, OSHA and department mandated regulations and specifications for associated work. 1.3 Contractor(s) shall review the list of roads and all drawings detailing work to be performed under this solicitation. 1.4 The scope of work is further defined and detailed within Exhibits E-O found attached to the draft contract agreement affixed to this solicitation package as well as within the plans associated with this project. Contractor is responsible for reviewing all documentation associated with this project. 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK AND LOCATIONS 2.1 The work on this contract consists of approximately the following. 2.1.1 Survey and as-builts for the curve shall be included in Mobilization 101-1 of the bid schedule. LCDOT will not provide a survey. 2.1.2 Locates are the responsibility of the awarded Vendor. 2.1.3 Bridges/Culverts shall be milled so that there is no damage to the existing deck. 2.1.4 All roads shall be milled 1 1/2"and tacked and receive a 1.5" (165lbs) avg overlay of Superpave 12.5 traffic lvl C, PG76-22 2.1.5 Contractor shall remove Guardrail with care not to damage beams and end treatments and stockpiled for removal from site by Lee County Department of Transportation (LCDOT). Posts shall be disposed by the awarded Vendor, and they are not to be reused in new installation. 2.1.6 Any potholes or depressions shall be filled and compacted prior to paving the roadway mainline. 2.1.7 Milled surfaces may be left for up to 24 hours as long as they do not exceed 1 mile in length and also have appropriate markings for the traveling public and have a smooth transition into and out of the milled area (minimum 6 ft transition). 2.1.8 ADA improvements shall meet the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and FDOT. 2.1.9 Striping to match existing if there is a conflict between existing striping and MUTCD and FDOT, MUTCD and FDOT prevail. 2.1.10 Driveways shall be cleaned of debris after the paving operation has been completed. 2.1.11 No feathered joints at driveways and/or roadway tie-ins. 2.1.12 Temp paint is incidental to the Thermoplastic Installation. 2.1.13 Manholes and valve boxes may be adjusted with metal rings as needed. 2.1.14 Millings from this project shall be property of the awarded Vendor. 3. LANE CLOSURES 3.1 Lane closures will be allowed during daytime hours during this project except when in conflict with provision 3.2. All work requiring lane closures shall occur from the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. School zones work hours shall be 9:00AM to 2:00PM unless otherwise authorized in writing. 3.2 If work is to be performed between Thanksgiving and Easter, no lane closures will be allowed on Arterial and Collector roadways except during nighttime hours. 3.3 MOT plans must be submitted to the Project Manager and approved prior to commencement of work.
