Waterloo Central School District - 2023 Capital Improvement Project Separate Bid is requested for the following Prime Contract: Contract 105 - ELECTRICAL CONTRACT SED CONTROL NO.: 56-10-06-06-0-003-019 SED CONTROL NO.: 56-10-06-06-0-008-018 SED CONTROL NO.: 56-10-06-06-0-011-020 SED CONTROL NO.: 56-10-06-06-5-017-005 The Board of Education hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all Bids or to accept the one that in its judgment will be for the best interest of the school district. A Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Owner in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders, must be deposited by each Bidder with his Bid as a guarantee that, in the case the contract is awarded to him, he will then, ten days thereafter, execute such contract and furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond, and the Bidder shall not withdraw his Bid for a period of forty-five days after the above date of Bid opening, and to guarantee the performance of all other obligations of the Bidders as set forth in Instructions to Bidders. Bids shall be on the form provided in the documents, prepared in duplicate as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and enclosed in an envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the bidder and the title of work to which the proposal relates. If submitting for more than one contract, submit each contract bid in a separate envelope. Electrical Construction Contract #105 1. The Electrical Contractor (EC) shall furnish all material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, supervision, management, and administration required for the total performance of the work of this contract as listed in the following specification sections and shown on the following drawings including, but not limited to: a. Code Compliance Drawings prefixed with the letter (E). b. Electrical Drawings prefixed with the letter (E). c. Site Drawings prefixed with the letter (L) as pertaining to sitework electric d. Provide the complete work for all sections of Divisions 00, 01, 26, 28. e. Specifications Sections Division 028333 (related to lead), 260010 Basic Electrical Requirements. f. Division 31 and 32 as pertaining to sitework electric. g. Refer to 011000, 1.5 (E) for "Owner Procured Remedial Contractor" scope of work. 2. The EC shall provide a laborer for Two hundred (200) hours to work under the direction of the Construction Manager. The EC shall calculate the 200 hours at a rate of $85/hr. and shall include this cost as part of the base bid. Hours shall be tracked by submission of weekly time tickets provided by the EC and signed by the Construction Manager. 3. The EC shall be responsible for offsite disposal of unsuitable spoils resulting from their excavation work. 4. The EC shall be responsible for saw cutting, trenching, and concrete placement as related to the work, including excavation, bedding, backfill, and compaction with appropriate specified materials to subgrade elevation. The EC shall provide vapor barrier, wire mesh and dowels at concrete patching. SC will complete this work at exterior of the Bus Garage. 5. The EC shall provide access panels in accessible areas as a means to access junction boxes. Access panels/doors shall match wall and ceiling fire ratings. 6. The EC shall provide housekeeping pads for equipment provided. At minimum, pads shall be constructed of 4000 psi concrete, be 4" thick and sized large enough for equipment to be placed on pad with 6" concrete reveal at all sides. 7. The EC shall permanently secure (as high as possible) existing loose wiring, cabling and conduit including but not limited to communication cabling, fiber optic, data cabling, control wiring, etc., in areas where complete ceiling removal and replacement is scheduled. 8. The EC shall reinstall existing devices that were temporarily suspended by others as part of the abatement work. Devices include but are not limited to lights, speakers, exit signs, fire alarm devices, security devices, etc., and orientate the fixtures to duplicate their original installation placement. 9. The EC shall provide adequate support and protection for the electrical systems until such time as the new systems are in place and ready for use by the Owner. The EC shall maintain existing systems including Owner requirements for power, lighting, safety and communication systems throughout the construction project. 10. The EC shall provide power necessary for abatement equipment including but not limited to multiple locations. Temporary electric panels shall be provided by the EC for the purposes of all work. Power requirements for abatement are to be coordinated as soon as possible after contracts are awarded. 11. The EC shall supply control and power wiring, electrical door hardware, and security devices. Power connections shall be made to the nearest circuit available or as indicated in the project documents.
