Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Repair of existing brick sidewalk and stoop. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The Edgartown Council on Aging is inviting bids from qualified landscape construction companies for the repair and refurbishment of the brickwork at the Daggett St. entry and pathway, encompassing an estimated total area of 65 square feet. This project is intended for a comprehensive enhancement of both the functionality and aesthetics of the entry and pathway. Questions concerning this IFB must be submitted in writing to: James Hagerty, Chief Procurement Officer, Edgartown, MA (70 Main St or PO Box 5158) no later than 4:00pm, August 23, 2024. Questions may be mailed, or emailed (jhagerty@edgartown-ma.us). Written responses will be emailed to all bidders on record as having requested the IFB. 1. Removal of Sidewalk Bricks - Remove all existing sidewalk bricks in the specified area (roughly 65 sq. ft) - Ensure that bricks in good condition are set aside for reuse. 2. Installation and Grading for New Bricks - Prepare the base by grading and compacting the underlying surface to ensure proper drainage and stability. - Add a layer of sand or suitable base material to provide a stable foundation for the new bricks. 3. Installation of New Bricks - Install new bricks to match the existing ones in color, size, and pattern. - Ensure that the new installation is level and consistent with the surrounding brickwork. - Use any salvaged bricks from the initial removal where possible to maintain visual continuity. 4. Removal of Broken and Loose Bricks from Stairs and Stoop - Identify and remove all broken and loose bricks from the stairs and stoop area. - Set aside salvageable bricks for reuse. 5. Repair and Re-pointing - Repair the removed portions of the stairs and stoop, using appropriate materials and methods to ensure durability. -Re-point all joints with mortar to match the existing color and texture, ensuring a cohesive appearance and structural integrity. 6. Debris Removal - Remove all construction debris, including broken bricks, excess materials, and other waste. - Ensure the site is clean and free of hazards upon project completion.
