The town’s highway superintendent Allan DeBettencourt told the select board on Monday that his crew will be repaving the road and rebuilding storm water catch basins, which are located at various locations along the street. Construction begins Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mr. DeBettencourt said Main Street should be open to all traffic with the exception of a few hours when the town starts the repaving process on April 14. “I know it’s an uncomfortable time to do this, [but] there is no comfortable time,” Mr. DeBettencourt said. He added that construction will not interfere with the town meeting on April 8, nor will take place it during town elections on April 10. ____________________________________ The Town of Edgartown seeks quotes on the following for repairs to the first floor sewer pipes of Town Hall, located at 70 Main Street. Work is to be performed during between 4 pm Friday and 8 am Monday when Town Hall is closed. Selected contractor will be expected to sign a contract with the Town and provide proof of insurance. Contracts greater than $25,000 will require a 50% payment bond from the awarded contractor. Work must be completed by October 31, 2024. Award will be made within ten (10) business days after the submission due date. Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, chapter 149, sections 26 and 27, the Division of Occupational Safety has determined the Prevailing Wage Rates for this work and they are included as part of the IFB.
