County : Strafford Location: Spaulding Turnpike Scope of Work: Urgent Repair of 48" CMP Pipe Proposal Guarantee: 5% of bid amount This Project Consists of Slip Lining a Failed 48 Corrugated Metal Pipe (Cmp) on Nh 16 (Spaulding Turnpike), Located at Mm 31.1 Approximately 1.8 Miles South of the Exit 18 Nb Off Ramp in the Town of Milton. Question Deadline 08/29/2024, Bidders Should Act Promptly and Submit All Questions in Writing to Sam Newsom at Sam.b.newsom@dot.nh.gov at Least Five (5) Business Days Before the Hour and Date Set for the Bid Opening. No Phone Calls or Faxes Will Be Accepted. All individuals, firms, partnerships or corporations intending to bid, before obtaining plans and specifications, must file with the Department of Transportation on forms prepared for that purpose at least ten (10) days prior to opening of bids, a statement showing their qualifications. No valid bidding proposal will be issued to a prospective bidder who is not qualified Project completion date : 5/30/2025 If contract price is $35,000 or more, the successful bidder will be required to furnish electronically, at the time of approval, a contract bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of their bid. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all proposals. NHDOT - Urgent Repair of 48 Corrugated Metal Pipe on NH 16 DESCRIPTION OF WORK This project consists of slip lining a failed 48 corrugated metal pipe (CMP) on NH 16 (Spaulding Turnpike), located at MM 31.1 approximately 1.8 miles south of the Exit 18 NB off ramp in the Town of Milton. The 48 CMP has been in service since the late 1970s. The metal invert has completely rusted away and 20 on the outlet side of the structure has begun to fail, exhibited by sinkholes in the slope embankment and the pipe separating from the headwall. This section of pipe is located below the side slope embankment and does not currently pose an immediate threat to the roadway. The 48 CMP will be slip lined and the stone masonry headwalls will be reconstructed or replaced as necessary. The failed section of pipe will be removed and replaced to tie into the slip lined pipe. A nearby 12 concrete slope pipe that is also in need of repair and will be replaced in kind with a 12 plastic slope pipe.
