Rail Trail Resurfacing and Improvements. Contractor Qualification Highway Division Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Obtaining Bid Packages: Specifications, general instructions, and Bid Forms must be obtained at the Winchendon Town Hall 109 Front St, Winchendon, Ma 01475 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday or by emailing pwood@winchendon-ma.gov. Bidders are required to submit bids on the Bid Forms provided. Scope of Work The work to be performed under this Contract consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials and equipment required for the application of micro surface treatment, HMA spot repairs, installation of pedestrian rapid flashing beacons and pavement markings as listed in this proposal. The work hours are 7:00am to 3:30 pm Monday - Friday excluding Town holidays. The work includes the applying a microsurface and related work to maintain a uniform longitudinal and cross slope that will guarantee a puddle free surface with a smooth ride and a consistent thickness of micro surface material from Summer St. to North Ashburnham Rd, approximately 2.75 miles. Contractor will be responsible for installing rapid flashing beacons at 3 locations along the trail and painting the longs lines, crosswalks, stop bars and lettering along the trail path to the Town line. The course of microsurface shall extend to the edges of the existing path and free of puddles. The contractor is responsible to recommending any additional HMA spot repairs, not identified in the plans, prior to the application of the micro surface treatment. Contractor is further responsible for ensuring the HMA path is clean and prepared before receiving the micro surface. All sweeping / cleaning and saw cutting of pavements and working around signs are incidental to all work items and there will be no separate pay item for it. Contractor shall limit the bridge crossings needed to install the micro surface. Multiple access points as shown on the drawings will provide access to the trail eliminating the need for crossing Bridges 1 and 4. Contractor shall choose either Bridge 2 or 3 to cross in order to complete the section of project between the bridges. In the event that machinery is required on a bridge, contractor shall use only one machine at a time to limit the weight on the bridge. Incidental to this contract as needed are all advance construction warning signs, ramps at joints, cones, and barrels needed to insure the safety of the public. The Contractor will have no claim for required mobilizations or delay due to unforeseen circumstances associated with Town utilities. The Contractor shall provide his services within (2) two weeks of the date requested by the Town and will submit a project schedule of work activities.
