Demolition and new construction of a mixed-use development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Working plans call for the construction of a 146,649-square-foot educational facility.
As of March 2026, construction documents are underway. A construction manager has been selected. Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2026. Project consists of a new 146,649 SF Pre-K8 School, including the modifications to sitework, modifications to existing public roads, and construction of the new school site. Packages being pre-qualified include, but are not limited to general trades, building demolition, final cleaning, concrete, masonry, structural & miscellaneous steel, architectural woodwork & shelving, roofing, waterproofing, sealants, firestopping, doors/frames/hardware, overhead doors, glass and glazing, overhead doors, drywall & framing, acoustical ceilings & sound absorptive panels, flooring, tile, resinous flooring, painting, wood stage & athletic flooring, miscellaneous specialties, signage, operable panel partitions, canopies, lockers, food service equipment, stage curtains, athletic equipment, window blinds, media center casework, laboratory casework, telescoping stands, grandstands & bleachers, elevators, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, telecommunications, earthwork, fencing, landscaping, and synthetic athletic surfaces. The target bid date is late summer 2026, and target construction will start in the fall of 2026. The participation of M/W/SBE firms is highly encouraged. All contractor prequalification forms are due into Messer Construction by 4:00 pm on June 12, 2026. Bidders must meet this deadline to be considered for approval to bid the project.
