Demolition, site work and new construction of a conference / convention center in Southaven, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the demolition of a conference / convention center; for site work for a conference / convention center; and for the construction of a conference / convention center.
As of March 21, 2025, construction had commenced late October 2024 and all trades have been awarded. The previous solicitation is listed below for reference. Project is located at the existing Landers Center property at 4500 Venture Drive, Southaven, Mississippi 38671. This Bid Package of the project is to prepare the site and building pads for a new multi-story hotel and the Convention Center Expansion of the Landers Center. Scope of Work of this Bid Package includes tree clearing and removal; site demolition; demolition of the existing Theater building; capping, removal, and rerouting of selected underground utilities; earthwork, grading; select engineered cut and fill from on-site borrow; partial storm sewer installation; underground utility installation and maintenance of erosion control systems. Contract Scope: Site Construction, demolition, and facility operations during occupancy Bid Bond is to be made payable to the Construction Manager, Montgomery Martin Contractors, LLC and must be submitted to the Desoto County Procurement Office PRIOR to the time of Bid Due Date. (It is recommended at least thirty (30) minutes prior). Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities, the right to reject one or all bids and the option to postpone action and final decision for a period of up to sixty (60) calendar days. Submit your offer on the Bid Form provided. Per the schedule provided in addendum 1, construction is expected to start late October 2024. Substantial completion is expected May 2025. The bid will be awarded to the lowest responsive responsible and qualified bidder. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities, the right to reject one or all bids and the option to postpone action and final decision for a period of up to forty-five (45) calendar days. Bidders must be properly licensed at the time of the bid and provide evidence of compliance with the applicable provisions of Section 31-3-21 (or latest revision) of Mississippi Code before such bid may be considered. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000 by a prime or subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance or related work must comply with the Mississippi Contractors Act of 1985 by securing a Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Contractors. The Prime Bidder's Certificate Number must be placed on the outside of the sealed envelope or the bid will not be opened. Subcontractors requiring a Certificate of Responsibility must be listed, including their Certificate of Responsibility Number, on the Sub-Contractor List with the Bid. Out of State Contractors/Bidders must include their State Bid Preference Law with their bid.
