The City of Napavine solicits interest from qualified consulting firms with expertise in groundwater modeling with the intention of awarding the project to the most qualified consultant. The City of Napavine reserves the right to amend terms of this "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses. Project Description: The City is interested in developing a 3-dimensional, transient, finite difference groundwater model of the Napavine area in order to evaluate area groundwater flow regimes with the intent of siting 2 new production wells. Presently, the City's water supply wells are clustered within a 1/4 mile radius in central Napavine. The proximity of the wells to one another is problematic in that there is a potential for contamination in multiple wells should a release occur. It is the City's intent to utilize the groundwater model as a predictive tool to determine the locations of two new production wells. The groundwater model shall be calibrated for recharge, flow and discharge rate(s). The design phase for development of the groundwater model has an anticipated project schedule of Q4 2024 through Q1 2025. The City of Napavine reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm for any subsequent phases associated with this project. Consultants will be evaluated and ranked on qualifications of key personnel, ability to meet schedule, approach to work, familiarity with Lewis County geology and hydrogeology, and past performance on similar projects.
