This project will provide mobility and accessibility improvements at several signalized intersections in Shawnee by improving the pedestrian facilities to bring them into compliance with the American's With Disabilities Act. These locations are in heavily travelled corridors where pedestrians commonly cross the roadway. This project is phase 2 of a project that received TAP funding in the 2021-2022 round of funding. The intersections included are: Quivira and Shawnee Mission Parkway Long and Shawnee Mission Parkway Pflumm and Shawnee Mission Parkway Monticello and Shawnee Mission Parkway 83rd and Cole Parkway Johnson Drive and Rosehill Rd. Midland and Renner As of September 13, 2024, project is included in the City of Shawnee's FY 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
