Reference Number : 0000363076 The Town of Tiverton is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide all necessary professional services for construction of a six-pickleball court and two-tennis court complex Project Approach: Provide a clear, concise statement of the general approach to be undertaken on the project. Scope of Work: Site preparation, excavation and grading of the location have been completed. Additional preparatory work may be conducted by the Tiverton DPW. Proposal should include the following: SITE WORK: Excavate unsuitable material to 12" below grade and remove offsite. Furnish and install 12" of pulverized asphalt pavement under new paved areas. Furnish and install approx." 2" of new dense grade gravel on area of 121' x 208'. Fine grade and compact (1% max slope) new proposed court area of 121' x 218'. PAVING: Furnish and install 1 1/2 " of hot mix asphalt binder course. Furnish and install 1 1/2 " hot mix asphalt surface course. Inspect surface for birdbaths that don't meet A.S.B.A. spec. by flooding courts. If birdbaths are present, prime with 50 % and 50% liquid binder. Once dry fill birdbaths with Court patch binder with either a straight edge or squeegee. Once cured, sand and apply 2 coats of acrylic resurfacer. NET POST FOOTINGS: Install 16 sets of 3500 psi concrete net post footings and 2 concrete center pin footings according to A.S.B.A. specs. (After the binder is installed and before the top coat is installed) Furnish and install schedule 40, PVC net post sleeves. Furnish and install 2 new sets of tennis net post, 2 tennis nets and 2 center straps. Furnish and install 6 new sets of pickleball net posts and 6 pickleball nets. FENCING: Furnish and install 779 linear feet of new 10' high black vinyl fencing. Furnish and install 100 linear feet of new 6' high black vinyl fencing between pickleball courts. Furnish and install 1 3/4 ", 9 gauge, fuse bonded black vinyl chain link fabric. Furnish and install 3" schedule 40, black vinyl terminal posts. Furnish and install 2.5" schedule 40, black vinyl line posts. Furnish and install 1 5/8" black vinyl top and bottom rail. Furnish and install 7 ADA compliant pedestrian gates. SURFACING: Furnish and install 1 coat of acrylic resurfacer. Furnish and install 2 coats of combination surface (color T.B.D.) Mask and paint 2" textured white lines for tennis. Mask and paint 2" white lines for pickleball. Align scope of work to RFP Exhibit A (Blueprint). Schedule of Work: The consultant shall provide a schedule for the various tasks identified in the Scope of Work. The schedule should include the time allowed for review by the Town. Consultant Qualifications: Consultant qualifications should include detailed information regarding the Consultant's experience on similar projects. General Requirements - Insurance Required The Town of Tiverton will not be responsible for expenses incurred in preparing and submitting the proposal and therefore should not be included in the proposal. Any change or interpretation made as a result thereof will be published in an addendum and mailed to all prospective proposers. Should a proposer still not be satisfied, he may, in the proposal, set out and stipulate the exception, with enough explanation to be understood by the Town and, within the stipulation, the INCREASE or DECREASE in the proposed price because of the exception shall be stated. The Town may, at its discretion, accept or reject any or all exceptions. The proposer will state the approximate delivery date in the proposal, or the time required to make delivery after notification of award. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Town may require, to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive any technical defect or informality in bids received, and to accept or reject any bid or portion thereof. The Town of Tiverton reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to accept any proposals deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
