Question Deadline 10/18/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than 72 hours prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered The time allowed for Substantial Completion from the date of Notice to Proceed is 90 consecutive calendar days. The project has a maximum time for total completion which shall not exceed 120 consecutive calendar days from the starting date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the Owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the Owner in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the Contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement. Surety and insurance companies must be listed in the Federal Registry of Insurance Companies Circular 570, holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 30 days after the day of the Bid Opening, but Owner may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. This project consists of two project areas and multiple options per area. The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows: Carter Street A-1: This design consists of the replacement of an existing 42" CMP storm drain pipe with 64 Linear Feet (LF) of 66" RCP and two concrete headwalls. This option also includes 760 Square Feet (SF) of asphalt replacement, tree removal, and the removal of an existing 15" RCP. Carter Street A-2: This design consists of the replacement of an existing 42" CMP storm drain pipe with 64 Linear Feet (LF) of 6' X 5' box culvert and two headwalls. This option also includes 760 Square Feet (SF) of asphalt replacement, tree removal, and the removal of an existing 15" RCP. Chattahoochee Street B-1: This design consists of the removal of existing 24" PVC and 24" RCP storm drain pipes, Concrete Flume, and Concrete Apron. This will be replaced with 59 Linear Feet (LF) of double barrel 34" X 53" elliptical RCP, one straight headwall, one concrete headwall, and one concrete spillway. This option also includes 1,163 Square Feet (SF) of asphalt replacement and tree removal. Chattahoochee Street B-2: This design consists of the removal of existing 24" PVC and 24" RCP storm drain pipes, Concrete Flume, and Concrete Apron. This will be replaced with 59 Linear Feet (LF) of double barrel 34" X 53" elliptical RCP, 37 Linear Feet (LF) of double barrel 36" RCP, one straight headwall, three concrete headwalls, and one concrete spillway. This option also includes 1,163 Square Feet (SF) of asphalt replacement and tree removal. Chattahoochee Street B-3: This design consists of the removal of existing 24" PVC and 24" RCP storm drain pipes, Concrete Flume, and Concrete Apron. This will be replaced with 59 Linear Feet (LF) of double barrel 34" X 53" elliptical RCP, 43 Linear Feet (LF) of double barrel 36" RCP, a double grate inlet precast structure with two 6 Linear Feet (LF) 30" RCP pipes, two flared end sections, and two concrete headwalls. This option also includes 1,163 Square Feet (SF) of asphalt replacement and tree removal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities, and to re-advertise.
