The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows: The project includes all material, labor, and related appurtenances for complete installation of a gravity sewer system as indicated on the construction drawings. The project involves sewerline replacement of existing sewer with 10" PVC and HDPE. This work will include the replacement of approximately 3,040 Linear Feet (LF) of 8" & 10" gravity sewer line via pipe bursting, 573 Linear Feet (LF) of 8" gravity sewer with 10" PVC via open cut installation, 112 Linear Feet (LF) of 8" gravity sewer with 10" DIP via open cut installation, 9 manholes, approximately 14 service laterals, approximately 10 manhole invert replacements, and all related work to be installed to serve residents along Bruce Street and Davis Drive in Adairsville, Georgia. This work also requires bypass pumping and approximately 400 Square Feet (SF) of Asphalt Pavement Repair. This project is funded in part by the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and subject to compliance with funding agency regulations. The time allowed for Substantial Completion from the date of Notice to Proceed is 120 consecutive calendar days. The project has a maximum time for total completion which shall not exceed 150 consecutive calendar days from the starting date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the Owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the Owner in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the Contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement. Surety and insurance companies must be listed in the Federal Registry of Insurance Companies Circular 570, holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of State to do business in the State of Georgia. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the Bid Opening, but Owner may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities, and to re-advertise. Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the Owner. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, ARPA #2 SEWER REPLACEMENT . If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention of the Purchasing Manager at the address previously given. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities, and to re-advertise.
