ADDRESS: 134 Groton Long Point Road, Groton, CT 06340 The Town of Groton Office of Planning and Development Services seeks the services of a consulting firm or team of firms to implement the "Climate Ready Groton" project. This project's goal is to develop a roadmap of climate mitigation and adaptation priorities for the town to pursue by 2050 or beyond that: 1. is centered on principles that honor justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) and recognizes the disproportionate burdens of climate change impacts 2. is developed through extensive community engagement that doesn't just inform people, but creates opportunities for true collaboration and the integration of community voice in decision-making 3. will help the town reduce its contribution to the climate crisis by cutting its greenhouse gas emissions 4. creates solutions to help the town adapt to the climate impacts already being experienced as well as the impacts predicted to occur by 2050 Qualified firms or teams of firms should have a solid track record of developing climate plans that address both mitigation and adaptation and experience integrating JEDI values into planning projects. The preferred consultant or team of consultants will be one that has extensive experience collaborating with municipal governments, centering planning projects on JEDI values, using varied public engagement strategies tailored to the community, and developing recommendations that reflect community needs and voices. 1. BIDDER INFORMATION It is the intent of this "Request for Proposals" to establish a vendor to supply the Town of Groton with climate planning services. The prospective bidder must complete the bid form and company information sheet, but need not return the entire Request for Proposals. The bidder is not to include any taxes from which the Town is exempted by law. The Town will complete any tax exemption forms that the successful vendor may require if such forms are within the Town's legal parameters.
