The City of Galt (City) is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms for engineering design services in connection with the Chabolla Skate Park Enhancements Project (Project). The selected consultant will work closely with City staff to perform preliminary engineering, conduct public outreach, and prepare conceptual designs, environmental documents, final design, final construction (bid) documents and bid support to publicly bid the project. The new skate park will approximately double the amount of usable space of the existing park and will provide permanent features which may include, but not limited to: reinforced, cast-in-place concrete surfaces, banks, stairs, boxes, pyramids, vertical ramps or spines no greater than six (6) feet in height, Street terrain features and transitions, rails, upgrades to existing park lighting, seating, security fencing, accessible pathways, and other work as described in Attachment A, "Scope of Work Requirements". The selected consultant will utilize the City's preliminary renderings, developed by American Ramp Company, as a framework for developing two (2) initial conceptual plans and layouts of the new skate park facility, in accordance with the Request for Proposals. A copy of the City's conceptual renderings is located in Attachment B. Chabolla Skate Park is located at 620 Chabolla Avenue, Galt, CA 95632. The Skate Park was originally built in 2003 and borders the northern perimeter of the Gora Aquatic Center. The park is located within walking distance of Fairsite Elementary School, Fairsite Preschool, the Chabolla Community Center, and several City parks and open-green spaces. The desired completion timeline for the design is Fall of 2025, with construction expected to be completed by Summer 2026. The City will not hold a pre-proposal meeting. Consultants are encouraged to visit the project site prior to submitting their proposal. The City reserves the right to retain all proposals submitted and to use any ideas in a proposal regardless of whether that Consultant is ultimately selected. Submission of a proposal indicates acceptance by the Consultant of the conditions contained in this Request for Proposals (RFP), unless clearly and specifically noted in the proposal submitted, and confirmed in a subsequent agreement between the City and the Consultant selected. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
