Engineer's Estimate $1.96 Million. TOTAL CONTRACT TIME: 330 Calendar Days. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of work consists of constructing topside wellhead improvements, including installation of a vertical turbine lineshaft deep well pump and motor, above and below ground discharge piping, pump to waste spool, connection to existing raw water line. Adding an additional arsenic removal treatment filter vessel, including filter internals and media, concrete foundation, and associated piping and appurtenances. Adding an additional turbidimeter, control, and enclosure for filter addition. Modifying the existing filtration system PLC program from operating two of six filter vessels, to three of six filter vessels. Providing programming modifications to the existing PLC program and OIT screens to add new well pump controls. Providing and installing new VFD and RVSS Starter for the new well pump. Providing electrical protective device studies and NETA testing as specified. The City ofGalt Public Works Department constructed a test well at the Industrial Water Treatment Plant (IWTP) in 2016 as part ofthe IWTP 2016 Deep Well Project. The IWTP 2016 Deep Well Project added a 2,000 gallons per minute (gpm) production well to the existing site. The test well was drilled to a depth of 1,630 feet and constructed with a 12.75 inch outside diameter mild steel and stainless steel well casing and well screen assembly. This Project consists ofthe design for converting the test well into a production well and required upgradesto the Water Treatment Plant to allow pipeline routing, connection, and the expansion ofexisting plant forthe new well. The test well conversion to a production well shall meet a design capacity of at least 1,000 gpm, with the design flow ofthe new variable speed well pump at 1,150 gpm at maximum speed. Each Bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a Bidder's Bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check, or cashier's check payable to the City of Galt, or cash. The amount of the bid security must be not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price, consisting of the total base bid plus the total additive bid alternates. The successful Bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, in conformance with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. No Bid received and read aloud may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, except pursuant to California Public Contract. The City reserves the right to award the Contract, to reject any or all Bids, to waive non-material and inconsequential irregularities in any Bid, and to reject nonconforming, nonresponsive, non-responsible, or cprfgitional Bids.
