Site work for a communication facility in Galt, California. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade communication facility.
The Base Bid Scope of Work encompasses a crucial upgrade to the city's digital backbone. This project involves the specialized horizontal boring installation of approximately 3,128 linear feet of new fiber optic cable and all necessary supporting equipment across five key municipal sites. This initiative establishes a modern, high-speed fiber network that directly connects City Hall with the Community Center, the Parks & Recreation Building, the Aquatic Center, and the Galt Market Building with 4 fibers at each location. This direct connectivity will significantly improve and modernize the City's communication infrastructure and fully integrate the data systems of all five locations. All new fiber lines are designed to terminate directly and securely within each building's designated server room. While the anticipated primary method is horizontal directional boring, the Contractor has the flexibility to propose alternate construction methods (such as aerial, open trench, or specific bore profiles) if deemed more efficient, cost-effective, or technically necessary, pending review and approval by the City of Galt Engineering Division a minimum of 15 days prior to commencement. Compensation will be based on measured and verified installed quantities, using established unit prices. The specified 3,128 linear feet is an estimated quantity provided for bidding purposes only. Contractor's California License A - General Engineering Contractor required. Estimated construction cost: $244,000 - $334,000. Total contract time: 25 working days. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. $244,000 - $334,000 Base Bid Question Deadline 01/12/2026 Written questions regarding this Invitation for Bids should be directed to Daniel Wolfe by email at dwolfe@cityofgalt.org no later than ten (10) calendar days before the time specified for opening Bids. The Base Bid Scope of Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to complete a functional fiber optic installation. This primarily involves the construction work, including surveying, utility location, layout, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and all necessary pavement and surface restoration.
