Site work for a water / sewer project in Asheville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of December 17, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. This project will consist of the installation of approximately 1,250 LF of 12-inch, 6,950 LF of 8-inch, 20,600 LF of 6-inch ductile iron water line and related appurtenances, and 1,250 LF of HDPE and related appurtenances. All waterline installations include connections to smaller lines and meters located in various sub-areas in the City of Ashevilles water system along the project route. The contract will be fully performed over the course of a 609 consecutive-day (20 Months) period, commencing on the date of the Notice to Proceed. All bidders are required to submit cash, a cashiers check, or certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid proposal. In lieu of said money, the bidder can submit a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed in North Carolina to execute said bonds. This deposit shall be retained if the lowest responsible bidder fails to execute the contract within ten (10) days of the award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required in North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Those bonds shall meet the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129 and of Article 3 of Chapter 44A of the North Carolina General Statutes. The City of Asheville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
