CBI/HUB firms and non-prime subcontractors are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting as other prime subcontractors will be looking for lower tier subcontractors to increase MWSBE participation. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory but highly encouraged. All questions / RFIs shall be sent to the Construction Manager to coordinate with the Design Team, if necessary, and provide responses and / or clarifications. Bid bonds in the amount of 5% of the bid amount will be required for select trades. The low, responsive bidders bid security shall be held by Wharton-Smith until a subcontract agreement is executed and all required documentation and forms are submitted and approved by Wharton-Smith. All requested documentation must be submitted to Wharton-Smith within 10 business day from acceptance of the subcontract / Letter of Intent. All Prime Subcontractors are required to seek MWSBE participation for this project. The minimum participation goal for the project is 30% (15% MBE & 15% WBE/SBE) Reference the Bid Manual for additional information. All bids shall be submitted on the appropriate bid form with all forms and supplemental documentation filled out completely and accurately. Modifying the bid form, adding clarifications, or other wise non-compliant information with the bid may result in the bids being deemed non-responsive. All bids shall be signed by an authorized representative (Owner or Officer) of the company. Refer to the bid manual for additional information. The Construction Manager and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder should it be deemed in their best interest. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 133 days after receipt of bid.
