As of April 21, 2026, an architect and lease-leaseback contractor have been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to June of 2026. All requests for interpretation of proposal documents must be in writing and emailed to mnelms@dmusd.org. Questions are due no later than 3:00:00 p.m. on October 11, 2024. The selection criteria specified herein will be used to determine which of the proposals provided the best quality for Del Mar Union School District at the most economical cost for the project. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, waive all technicalities, and accept the proposals(s) most favorable to the District. The District has the right to ask for any clarifications on any or all proposals. No proposals may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the due date. The Del Mar Union School District ("District") is requesting qualifications and proposals ("RFQ-P") for architectural services from qualified firms for the Carmel Del Mar School Modernization project. In accordance with the Facilities Master Plan, the District proposes to complete the Modernization/Renovation, Modern Learning Studios (classrooms), and Innovation Center upgrades to address life-cycle replacement as well as learning space improvements that will result in a more flexible, adaptable facility that reflects our strategic plan, Destination 2028! Parent and staff input on the aesthetics and design of the campus will be requested and it is the District's desire to include all stakeholders who would like to be a part of the process.
