Site work and paving for a civil project in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and road / highway.

Work shall commence no later than March 31, 2025, and be completed within 175 working days. Alternate 1, if selected, will add an additional 30 working days to the above specified amount. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,500.00 per working day will be assessed for work not completed within this time. There is no maximum liquidated damages amount associated with the completion of the specified work. Contract shall be awarded based solely on the lowest responsible Base Bid amount. The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: 2803 LF of 36" RCP sanitary sewer, 663 LF of 15" PVC Truss sanitary sewer, 1143 LF of 12" PVC watermain, 540 LF of 8" PVC watermain, 16 sanitary sewer manholes, 492 SY of 6" PCC shared use path, 325 SY of 10" PCC full depth patch, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. The project includes a Milestone 1 completion date of August 11, 2025. Milestone 1 includes completing all work listed under Stages, 1A, 1B, and 2 as shown in the J Sheets. The intent of Milestone 1 is to permanently reopen Lininger Park and the Indian Creek Trail, this includes but is not limited to the final trail paving and backfill. Seeding operations may be completed after the specified date, but Type 1 seeding shall be completed within the fall 2025 seeding window and native/wetland seeding shall be completed within the spring 2026 seeding window. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000.00 per calendar day will be assessed if all work within Milestone 1, as stated above, is not completed by this date. There is no maximum liquidated damages amount associated with the completion of Milestone 1 The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City Engineer's Estimate: $4,110,800 Engineer's Estimate (Alternate 1): $388,500 Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract.
