Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: 2,217 LF of 6" Subdrain, 16 Subdrain Cleanouts, 157 SY of Driveway Removal and 6" PCC Driveway, 1805 LF of 2' PCC Curb and Gutter, and 105 SY of full depth patch, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. Project work shall start no earlier than May 26th, 2025, and shall start no later than August 4th, 2025, and be completed within 40 working days. Liquidated damages in the amount of $300.00 per day will be assessed for work not completed within this time. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
