Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: The vendor agrees to provide Marion Fire Department Multi-Function Live Fire Prop Services for the Public Safety Training Center, as described herein: The Vendor agrees to design, fabricate, install, and train staff to use a two (2) story, multi-functional live fire training prop. The prop will be a structure fabricated from intermodal shipping containers and used to teach firefighters how to fight live interior fires. The prop will be subject to intense heat, active fire, and heavy smoke. Vendors shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and fees per Scope of Work, Specifications, and Visual Overview to complete this project. Where applicable, the Multi-Function Live Fire Training Prop System shall meet or exceed the most current version of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, 1402, 1403, and 1500 Standards. and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. Liquidated damages in the amount of $300.00 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within this time. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract. The City of Marion reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, and no bid may be withdrawn during this period.
