The project consists of removing the existing coatings from the interior and exterior of the Water Tank and re-painting the tanks interior and exterior. The project includes all common phases of construction customarily associated with this type of project. The tank is approximately fifty-five (55) feet in diameter and approximately twenty-four (24) feet tall. The area of nine thousand (9,000) square feet listed in the bid summary is only an approximation of the total interior roof, wall and floor surface areas and does not include any additional square footage for beams and columns. Re-painting of the beams, columns and other items is included in the scope of work and shall be included in the contractors bid. Additional work also includes installing a new twenty-four (24) inch wide ladder per manufacturers recommendations, installing a LAD Safety Ladder System and Ladder Guard, installing a passive cathodic protection system, miscellaneous steel work including but not limited to installing additional handrail, removing the existing ladder, installing anchor safety points, removing Unistrut, installing new vent screens, and installing brackets for conduit as shown on the plans. Each Bid Proposal must be accompanied by a Cashiers check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond acceptable to Carson City in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Bidders Base Bid Proposal. This project requires a Contractors License Class A, C-28, C-28a, or C-4. The City reserves the right to waive any informality or irregularity in any Bid received, and to reject any or all Bids. In the case of rejection of all Bids, the City reserves the right to advertise for new Bids or to proceed to do the Work otherwise if, in the judgment of the Carson City Board of Supervisors or Carson City Regional Transportation Commission, it is in the best interest of the City.
