The Town of Islip is Requesting Bids for the Proposed Town Hall Annex Building, to Be Located Adjacent to the Existing Town Hall Facility at 655 Main Street in Islip. The New Structure Will Be Two Stories With a Partial Basement and Will Feature a Firstfloor and Basement Connection to the Current Town Hall, Along With Minor Improvements Within the Existing Building. Two Elevators Will Be Installed--one in The New Annex and One in the Existing Town Hall. The Project Also Includes the Removal of Half of the Traffic Circle, With The Remaining Roadway Being Converted to Two-way Traffic. Additional Site Work is Planned, Including Drainage, Lighting, Parking Lot Restoration, Landscaping, and The Installation of an Emergency Generator. This Project is Being Bid as a Multi-prime Contract and This Advertisement is for Plumbing Construction. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bid bond in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid and made payable to the Town of Islip. No bid will be accepted by email or facsimile. No responsibility shall attach to any person or persons for premature opening of bids not properly labeled or sealed. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, to waive any formality and/or informality in any or all bids and to accept the bid or part thereof which it deems most favorable to the Town after all bids have been examined and checked. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after being publicly opened and read. In the event bids are rejected or at least two are not received the Department of Purchase is authorized to readvertise for bids. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirement as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid for under the contract.
