Description: The Town of Islip requires services over a one (1) year period to board up and secure, according to HUD standards and the prevailing rate schedule of the New York State Labor Law, various properties throughout the Town that are identified as a public nuisance. The contract term may be extended at the Towns option for an additional two (2) years. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bid bond in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid and made payable to the Town of Islip. No bid will be accepted by email or facsimile. No responsibility shall attach to any person or persons for premature opening of bids not properly labeled or sealed. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, to waive any formality and/or informality in any or all bids and to accept the bid or part thereof which it deems most favorable to the Town after all bids have been examined and checked. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after being publicly opened and read. In the event bids are rejected or at least two are not received the Department of Purchase is authorized to re-advertise for bids. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirement as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid for under the contract.
