The County Board of Coles County will receive sealed bids for material and labor required for REMODEL & ADDITION FOR: COLES COUNTY JAIL 701 7TH STREET CHARLESTON, IL 61920 according to drawings and specifications as prepared by Utz & Associates, Architects, Effingham, Illinois as prescribed by Coles County Clerk 651 Jackson Avenue Charleston, Illinois 61920 VISITING THE SITE No special arrangements are required to visit the site. If access to buildings is required, contact Coles County Sheriff's Office. BID SECURITY A Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Owner in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid as guarantee that the bid will not be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the date of opening of bids, and that the successful bidder will enter into a Contract for the work awarded him. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full amount of the bid accepted. PREVAILING WAGE RATES Contractors and Subcontractors shall be required to comply with the Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and adopted by the County. SALES TAX This project is exempt from sales tax. The Owner will provide the Contractor with tax exempt identification number upon request. PROPOSAL REJECTION AND IRREGULARITIES The right is reserved by the Owner to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in any bid and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner. LOCATION OF PROJECT Remodel & Addition for: Coles County Jail 701 7th Street Charleston, Il 61920 SCOPE AND DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT Remodeling for men's and women's isolation cells; exam area & shower. Addition of Control Room for communications. CONTRACTS Bids will be taken and Contracts awarded as follows:
