Renovation of an educational facility in Simi Valley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Project. The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Work as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. The Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction and applicable regulations, and includes, but not limited to: Minor demolition, patch and repair flooring 1,000 sf, paint, new tack board and white board, one new electrical outlet for relocated projector per classroom, and replace damaged ceiling tile as required. New furniture to be covered and protected by the contractor as they arrive. PRE-BID QUESTIONS: 10:00 AM, Monday, February 10, 2025 The District will not respond to any bidder inquiries or clarification requests, unless such inquiries or clarification requests are timely submitted, in writing, to: Lori Rubenstein, Bond Program Manager, email: lori.rubenstein@simivalleyusd.org. Prequalification to Bid. Pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111.5, the District will only consider Bid Proposals submitted by Pre-Qualified Bidders; a Bid Proposal submitted by a Bidder who is not a PreQualified Bidder will be rejected for non-responsiveness. The Instructions to Bidders describes the prequalification requirement in more detail. Contractors are to prequalify through Quality Bidders. The District must receive a contractors completed prequalification approval through Quality Bidders, fifteen (15) days prior to bid opening date. Contractors' License Classification. Bidders must possess the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Bid Proposal is submitted and at time the Contract for the Work is awarded: B - General Building. The Bid Proposal of a Bidder who does not possess a valid and in good standing Contractor's License in at least one of the classifications set forth above will be rejected for non-responsiveness. Bidder and Subcontractors DIR Registered Contractor Status. Each Bidder must be a DIR Registered Contractor when submitting a Bid Proposal. The Bid Proposal of a Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when the Bid Proposal is submitted will be rejected for non-responsiveness. All Subcontractors identified in a Bidder's Subcontractors List must be DIR Registered contractors at the time the Bid Proposal is submitted. Prevailing Wage Rates. Pursuant to California Labor Code 1773, the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California has determined the generally prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed. Bid Security. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of the proposed price for any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected by the District. Waiver of Irregularities. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding. Award of Contract. The award of a contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Education to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Bid Proposal.
