As described in the Bidding Documents, the bids are for a public works project (Project) which consists of refreshing existing pavement delineation with paint, in accordance with SSS Section 84, "Markings" and the Special Provisions, on three (3) major roadways in the City of Simi Valley 1. Royal Avenue (three different segment lengths, see below); 2. Sequoia Avenue between Royal Avenue and The Woodlands Housing Tract; 3. Kuehner Drive between State Route 118 and Katherine Road (North). Three (3) alternative bids are being solicited depending on the length of the Royal Avenue segments indicated below. The Contractor is expected to bid on each alternative: 1. Between Madera Road and First Street (Unit Price Bid Schedule #1); Between Madera Road and Erringer Road (Unit Price Bid Schedule #2); 3. Between Madera Road and Sycamore Drive (Unit Price Bid Schedule #3) No crosswalks, pavement markings (arrows, legends, etc.), or raised pavement markers are included as part of the above scope of work. The Project also consists of removing of existing striping and application of new thermoplastic striping, in accordance with SSS Section 84, "Markings" and the Special Provisions, on Simi Town Center Way between First Street and Erringer Road. This section includes installation of crosswalks, pavement markings, and raised pavement markers. The expected completion time of the Project is 120 consecutive calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Five percent (5%) will be deducted from each progress payment and retained by the City. The remainder less the amount of all previous payments will be paid to the Contractor. The Bid shall be submitted and the work shall be performed by a State of California Class A licensed contractor in strict conformance with Specification No. SV 25-18, and now on file in the City's Department of Public Works and the Office of the City Clerk.
