As described in the Bidding Documents, the bids are for a public works project, Alamo Street and Tapo Street Signal Modification ("Project"), which consists of general traffic signal work at the intersection of Alamo Street and Tapo Street, which includes: 1) removing traffic signal poles and equipment; 2) installing new traffic signal poles, foundations and appurtenances; 3) removing and installing traffic signal wiring and cables; 4) installing and programming new traffic signal controller; and 5) installing and removing new video detection camera system. The First Notice to Proceed is defined as the notice given for acquisition of the parts and equipment necessary to carry out the work. The Second Notice to Proceed is defined as the notice given, following successful acquisition of the parts and equipment necessary to carry out the work, to proceed with construction. The expected completion time of the Project is 90 consecutive calendar days after receipt of the Second Notice to Proceed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: $500/day. Each Bid will be accompanied by Bid Security, in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid as security for Bidder's obligation to enter into a Contract with the City on the terms stated in the Bid Form and to furnish all items required by the Bidding Documents. Bid Security will be a Bid Bond on the form provided by the City or a certified check made payable to "City of Simi Valley." When a Bond is used for Bid Security, failure to use the City's Bid Bond form will result in the rejection of the Bid.
