This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Toronto, Ontario. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The Work is to be performed from the contract award date (anticipated to be December 2024) for a period of 2 years. The description of any options as follows: 1 Year The University Health Network's (UHN) Toronto Western Hospital (TWH) is a community-situated academic hospital with strong, established roots in one of Canada's most diverse, multi-cultural neighbourhoods. Every year TWH has over 450,000 visits from patients in Toronto and across Ontario with care needs ranging from emergency, critical care, acute and speciality care as well as mental health, ambulatory, virtual and primary care, with more than 45% of patients (as indicated from select TWH programs in UHN's Service Delivery Model) coming from across Toronto, GTA and provincially. Emergency departments are the safety net of our healthcare system and the front door of our hospitals; they are available every day and at every hour when we need them the most. Yet, the planet's population is aging rapidly, and Toronto is North America's fastest-growing city. In 25 years, 25% of the city's population will be over age 65, leading to a doubling of visits by older adults to the emergency department (ED). Currently, the University Health Network's (UHN) EDs serve over 30,000 patients in this age group annually, but resources are limited and not tailored to their unique needs. In response to this growing demand, UHN has undertaken the development of the Seniors Emergency Medicine (SEM) Centre at the Toronto Western Hospital. This first-of-its-kind project in Canada will be a 9,100-square-foot dedicated seniors' emergency care centre. Given its global exposure, high quality construction and workmanship are mandated. Many design details and elements are unique and deviate from conventional healthcare project models. The new Myrna Daniels Seniors Emergency Medical (SEM) Centre at the Toronto Western Hospital has been designed as an innovative, purpose-built space that promotes a safe, healing, and supportive environment tailored to the unique care needs of older adults. This scope of this RFP covers two separate parts for the SEM Centre Project: the SEM Centre (PART A), and an exterior corridor connecting the new SEM Centre to the existing Emergency Department
