Installation of Outfield and Dugout Padding for Baseball Field: The project involves the installation of new, customized padding for the outfield walls and dugouts. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to complete the project as per the specifications. Scope of Work Fence Repair o Repair the top rail of the fence at the intersection of the 3rd base fence and outfield fence. o Repair approximately 20 ft of chain link fence at left field. o Reattach and secure the bottom tension wire along the entire bottom of both the 1st base and 3rd base fences. Padding Installation o Provide and install padding along the chain link fence at 1st and 3rd base lines and the outfield fence. o Maintain uniform 4" clearance from the ground & bottom of padding system. o Provide 1/2"painted pressure treated (womanized) plywood backing at padding system. o Padding along 1st and 3rd base fences must be secured to the top rail of fence and chain link fence for support and stability. Photos of brackets for chain link fence are shown in Appendix A. o Padding along the outfield fence must be secured to the C-channel support beams along the back on the fence for stability and support. Discard/dispose of any debris. Coordinate with GSU Athletics and GSU Facilities for salvageable materials. Field Padding Requirements Location: Padding shall be installed along the outfield walls, backstop, and inside the dugouts. Dimensions: The height of the padding must be a minimum of 9 inches, covering the full length of the specified areas: o CUSTOM --3RD BASELINE (DUGOUT TO OUTFIELD FENCE) WALL PADDING 18OZ VINYL PLYWOOD BACKED, SEALED ON EDGES AND BACK. o CUSTOM --OUTFIELD WALL PADDING 18OZ VINYL PLYWOOD BACKED, SEALED ON EDGES AND BACK. INCLUDES; PADDING ABOVE 8', DIGITAL PRINTED LOGOS ON APPROX 65 PADS, HR STRIPE, FOUL LINES AND DISTANCE MARKERS o CUSTOM --1ST BASELINE (DUGOUT TO OUTFIELD FENCE) WALL PADDING- 18OZ VINYL PLYWOOD BACKED, SEALED ON EDGES AND BACK. o INCLUDES; PADDING FOR CHAINLINK WALL, DIGITAL PRINT Thickness: Padding must be a minimum of 3 inches to ensure adequate protection. Material: Padding shall be constructed from heavy-duty, weather-resistant vinyl or equivalent material with a high density foam core for impact absorption. It must withstand extreme weather conditions and UV exposure. Color: Padding must be Baseball, color will be provided by GSU and coordinated to match existing branding. Customization: Padding shall include screen-printed or sewn-on logos, sponsor advertisements, or other custom graphics as per the design provided by GSU. Attachment and Installation Attachment Method: Padding must be securely attached to the walls with rust-proof hardware. The fastening system should be flush to the padding surface to prevent injury. Installation: The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary equipment and labor to install the padding to 16 meet industry safety standards. The installation must ensure that the padding is properly aligned, securely fastened, and free of gaps or loose areas. Materials and Workmanship All materials shall be new, and all workmanship must meet industry standards for safety and durability. Padding must be installed without visible defects, ensuring uniformity and a clean, professional finish. Warranty The contractor must provide a minimum of 5-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty must also cover fading, cracking, and UV degradation of the padding material. Project Schedule Start Date: Work must commence once projected is awarded. Tentative start date of December 1, 2024. Completion Date: The project must be completed by January 31, 2024. Bidders must provide a detailed project schedule as part of their submission. Submittals Design Drawings: Provided See Appendix A. Material Samples: Samples of the padding material, color swatches, and custom graphics must be submitted for approval. Installation Method: A description of the attachment/installation method and hardware must be provided. Warranty Information: Include documentation detailing the warranty for materials and installation. Site Conditions and Preparation The contractor is responsible for inspecting the site before submitting the bid to ensure all field measurements and conditions are accurately accounted for. Any issues or discrepancies must be reported before bid submission. Safety and Clean-Up The contractor must comply with all applicable safety regulations during installation. The site must be kept clean, and all debris must be removed upon project completion.
