The City seeks to develop a comprehensive hydraulic model of the drinking water distribution system. o The model shall be developed to the degree that it can be used to aid the directing of new Capital Improvement Projects as well as development in the City. o There shall be provisions included for the updating of the model on an annual basis at a minimum for a period of not less than five (5) years. Question Deadline 11/12/2024 at 4:00 PM CT General The City requests s hydraulic model of the drinking water distribution system consisting of professional engineering analysis, recommendation, and estimated capacity needs to prioritize capital improvement projects. Project scope of work must include a hydraulic study and mapping that will best represent the water distribution system. The City will consider using either a stand-alone model or integration of GIS and modeling. This effort will model the water distribution for the first time. Using a calibrated hydraulic model, the firm must develop a prioritized list of capacity constraints within the water distribution system. Respondents are encouraged to demonstrate creativity in the modeling process. The City will consider the firm's ability to model: A. Multiple Design Scenarios - Present alternatives for water improvements. B. Fire Flow - Determine whether the capacity of a system meets the fire flow requirements for existing or planned land uses. C. Water Age and Quality - Demonstrate an ability to assess water quality for long term planning and safety. D. Advanced Application - Present other abilities beyond the traditional use of a hydraulic model that can benefit the City. n addition to the objectives stated above, the project scope must include the following items: 1. Summarize existing system deficiencies and propose improvements to enhance system reliability. 2. Recommend improvements needed to serve anticipated future growth. 3. Develop a schedule of cost for construction of improvements. 4. Submit draft report summarizing hydraulic study and results, conclusions, and recommendations. 5. Present the study findings to City staff and the City Council. 6. Complete a final report including the City's review and comments on the draft report. 7. Final submittal must include electronic copy and seven (7) hardcopies of final data, reports, maps and models. 8. One full day workshop to discuss models with City staff. 9. Provide one week of training for up to five (5) members of City staff. Selected firm should provide sufficient training to allow City staff to operate and maintain the models.
