The objective of this Invitation for Bid for Lawrence Public Schools ("LPS") is to solicit bids for 2024 Fall Asphalt and Concrete Maintenance & Improvements as defined within the Project Manual and Drawings. The intent of LPS is to enter into a contract with the successful bidder for each Package, which may be different bidders or the same bidder. The Packages are split with the intent to perform all of the work in both Packages between the end of the school spring semester and the start of the fall semester. Under this solicitation, LPS will consider bids based upon what constitutes the lowest and best responsive bid. Any contract, if issued, will be subject to annual appropriation of funds by LPS in accordance with its normal funding practices that will include but is not limited to budget allocations and limitations. In the event that funds are not available in full or in part for a contract issued in connection with this service, this contract will be subject to modification or cancellation depending upon the extent of available funds. If a bidder's contract is cancelled, or funding is no longer available for work that has already been done per the terms of the contract, the Contractor will be compensated to the greatest extent possible. LPS may cancel the contract in its entirety without penalty if funding is not available.
