Design Build Services RFP New Construction Town of Gibraltar, in the County of Door, State of Wisconsin, invites firms capable of performing Design- Build Construction services to submit a proposal. Firms will be evaluated only on the factors listed within this document. This Solicitation does not commit the Town to award a contract, to pay any cost incurred in the preparation of the proposal, or to procure or contract for services. Project Description: The Project includes design Build contract for a new construction of a municipal storage facility building on Chambers Island. The selected design-build firm shall be required to furnish all logistics and material to be transported by barge to the island, including the barge service and fees. The selected firm will provide a steel structure building (proposals can be pole shed, quonset hut, framed.) The building dimensions are 40x60 with 14 wall heights (4) garage doors, (2) on each of the 40 ft ends. The structure will be seated on a slab foundation (6) thick with re-bar and 12x16 thickened edges. Or by email to tthyssen@gibraltarwi.gov or abertges@gibraltarwi.gov Project description: The Town of Gibraltar is seeking a municipal storage building, the building can be Quonset style, pole shed, framed or any other reasonable option (board approved) that meets state codes and is secure. The building can be manufactured and set or designed and built. The building shall be 40 feet wide (gable end) and 60 feet long. The height of the building will need to accommodate (4) garage doors (2) one each side of the 40 with of the building the garage doors will need to be 12 feet wide and 12 feet tall with additional height allowed for opening the doors. The building shall be set on a 40 x 60 slab that has thickened edges meeting state codes to accommodate the weight of the proposed building. The center of the slab shall be no less than 6 inches thick with rebar 2 on center. The slab shall include any anchor bolts needed to secure the building to the slab per purchased building specifications or designed building state code. The current soil where the slab will be poured is sand, the slab can be constructed on the compacted sand, or the successful bidder may option to bring in additional aggregate to meet the specifications. The height of the top of the slab will need to be a minimum of 6 above the average surrounding grade to accommodate water runoff.
