the Work Will Consist of Interior and Exterior Painting Services Throughout the County of Santa Clara. the Successful Contractor Shall Be Responsible for All Necessary Labor, Equipment, Tools, Materials, and Supplies Required to Perform the Work as Specified Herein. This Agreement shall not be effective or binding unless approved in writing by the authorized designees of both Parties as evidenced by their signatures as set forth in this Agreement. The term of this Agreement shall begin on the Effective Date and end 12 months from the Effective Date, unless terminated earlier or otherwise amended. The County reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, renew this Contract for an additional 12- month term Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a bond in the sum of not less than 10% of the total aggregate of the bid price, including all additive bid items. The check or bond must be made payable to "The County of Santa Clara." The "payment bond for public works" must be in an amount of 100% of the Contract Sum as specified in the Notice to Bidders and shall inure to the benefit of persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection with the Work. This bond must be maintained in full force and effect until all Work is completed and Accepted by Owner, and until all claims for materials and labor have been paid. The "performance bond" must be in an amount of 100% of the Contract Sum as specified in the Notice to Bidders and must be so conditioned as to ensure the faithful performance by Contractor of all Work. It shall also include the replacing, or making acceptable, of any defective materials or faulty workmanship during the Guarantee period(s).
