Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Berkeley, sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited for the following work: UVA Community Center Envelope PROJECT NO. 12859A UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY, CA; ALAMEDA COUNTY DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Includes but not limited to: 1. Replace existing windows with new windows 2. Paint exterior of building 3. As indicated remove existing plywood siding back to existing studs. Provide new insulation at walls. Install new sheathing. Provide waterproofing including any flashing & tie ins. Install new cement plaster & paint. 4. Replace door and additional siding indicated on drawings. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable projects with a construction value at award of $800,000 or greater, completed in the past seven (7) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. a. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 2. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) describe how project is comparable to project being bid. 3. All projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. PROCEDURES: Important: Interested respondents must email UC Berkeley Contract Administration at contractadmin-cp@berkeley.edu and request access to this project in website, even if your company already has access to the system. Include the project name and number in the subject line, and title it: "website Access - Project/Number." Otherwise, you will not be able to submit your bid. Please allow at least two business days to request and receive access to the project in website. Results posted at website. Original Bid Bond must be RECEIVED within two (2) business days of Bid Deadline at: CAPITAL PROJECTS, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, 1936 University Avenue, Suite 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. MANDATORY PRE-BID SITE TOUR: LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: "B" - General Contractor Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Estimated construction cost: $800,000.00
