Restoration at Gowdy Park, including restoration of select site furniture, accessibility improvements, improvements to paving at parking and entrance areas, and crack repair on three courts. Gowdy Park is located at 463 Cedar Brook Road, Lynn MA 01904 Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Project must be completed within six (6) months of contract date. Question Deadline 11/04/2024 at 10:00 AM ET Questions must be emailed to purchasing@lynnma.gov Restore one (1) wooden picnic table near the Hilda Road parking area, located under the large tree in the playground area. 1.1.1.Scrape and pressure wash wood and metal parts to remove any corrosion, rot, rust, or vegetation. Sand as needed. Prevent dust and debris from being dispersed by use of tarps, drop cloths, and/or keeping the work area wet, as needed. 1.1.2.Prime and paint wood and metal parts. Painting shall take place only ifthe material is entirely dry. Wood surfaces shall be painted red with an oil-based exterior paint. Paint metal parts with a semi-gloss exterior metal black paint. 1.2. Install one (1) 50"x30,> aluminum Playground Communication Board designed by the Power of Speech (40 South St #101, Marblehead, MA 01945). The Playground Communication Board shall be mounted on 6" wooden posts set into 16" diameterconcrete footings. The Playground Communication Board will be provided by the City. The specific location ofthe Playground Communication Board shall be coordinated with the City and approved in writing. All new paving shall achieve positive drainage toward appropriate drain locations. Newly paved areas shall not allow any pooling ofwater or other drainage issues. 2.1. Pave approximately 456 square feet at die Hilda Road parking area. 2.1.1.Parking area paving shall be as specified in Commonwealth ofMassachusetts Highway Department Standard Specifications Subsection 460: Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement for Local Streets. Install approximately 25 linear feet ofbituminous concrete walkway from die Cedar Brook Road parking lot to the two southern courts currendy inaccessible by paved walkway. 2.2.1 .Walkways shall comply with the requirements ofthe Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Walkways will be at minimum 36 inches wide and maintain a running slope not steeper than 1:20. Repair approximately 250 linear feet ofcracks on three courts. 1.1.1.Remove vegetation, if any, from cracks and thoroughly clean using brooms and air pressure. Pressure wash as needed. Install a base in cracks as needed. 1.1.2.Pending written approval by the City, large cracks will be filled with a hot applied mastic crack sealant. Fill all ciacks not being filled with mastic crack sealant with a court patch binder or hydraulic concrete depending on the width ofthe cracks. 1.1.4.Install three (3) membrane layers ofRiteway Crack Repair System over filled cracks per the manufacturer's specifications. 1.2. Sweep and air clean courts. Clean up work area.
