The Quillayute Valley School District is seeking Statements of Qualification (SOQs) from qualified architects for professional services related to an upcoming bond project and subsequent design and construction of the Forks Middle School Replacement Project. Each proposal will be screened by selected staff to identify firms for interviews and will be evaluated both objectively, as compared to the other responses. Following receipt of information from all interested persons and firms, the Districts selection team shall hold interviews with proposers who are deemed qualified on the basis of information available prior to the interviews. The purpose of the interviews shall be to provide such further information as may be required by the selection team to fully acquaint itself with the relative qualifications of the interested firms. The selection team will identify and rank the firms which, in its judgment, are well qualified to perform architectural services necessary to the Districts capital program. The highest-ranked firm will have the first opportunity to negotiate a satisfactory contract for the required services. Following the interview, the superintendent will negotiate a professional services fee with the top-ranked firm. If an agreement cannot be reached, negotiations will proceed with the next highest-ranked firm. When an acceptable contract has been negotiated, the contract will be presented to the Districts Board of Trustees for its approval or rejection.
