Reference Number 0000281000 The DED Tree Removal RFP is for the removal and disposal of 34 Elm trees within the Town of Minnedosa and consists of all the work necessary to complete each item as specified below: a. Before conducting removals on private property, ensure that the property owner has been notified and has given permission for their trees to be removed. b. Trees must be removed flush with the ground or debarked to the soil line to comply with regulations under The Forest Health Protection Act. C. Equipment used to cut trees must be disinfected with methyl hydrate before servicing other healthy Elms. It is recommended that tree removals be undertaken as early as possible to avoid high snow and other operational issues in the winter months. While winter can be a good time for tree removals (minimizes site disturbance), deep snow can make locating trees and removing trees flush with the ground more difficult - particularly in bushy/wild areas. Site cleanup (branches, leaves, notches, wood) is the responsibility of the successful Proponent. f. g. Any damage done to property during removals must be remediated by the Successful Proponent and reported immediately to the Town and Property Owner. The Successful Proponent is responsible for transporting all trees removed to the Branch Pile located at the Town of Minnedosa Compost Site and will be buried by Town Employees.
