The primary objective of these PSRs is to address the deficiencies listed in the Bridge Inspection Report and propose rehabilitation or replacement of the existing bridges as appropriate. BR2401 - BRLS-5275(039) - Southbound Indio Blvd Overhead over UPRR Replacement This PSR aims to define the project scope including the most cost-effective and preferred alternative to correct the deficiencies listed in the Bridge Inspection Report. The existing bridge, built in 1956, has been identified with a low Sufficiency Rating (SR). The PSR will explore options for a new bridge that complies with current AASHTO and Caltrans design standards and widening to accommodate three 12' wide southbound traffic lanes to enhance safety and efficiency. The PSR will also consider rightof-way constraints and alignment with the City's General Plan for a principal arterial road. This segment of Indio Blvd is split with a grade separated northbound and southbound lanes. There are two twin bridges adjacent to each other over Union Pacific Railroad. The PSR should indicate if both bridges will need to be replaced for the ultimate condition. The City of Indio has recently completed median improvements between the north- and southbound lanes, that will also need to be taken into consideration for the final bridge improvements. Indio Blvd along this segment is adjacent to the Bermuda Dunes Airport. All proposed work will need to be coordinated with the Airport Land Use Commission. ackson Street Overhead over UPRR Replacement This PSR aims to define the project scope including the most cost-effective and preferred alternative to correct the deficiencies listed in the Bridge Inspection Report. The PSR will examine alternatives for a new structure that meets AASHTO and Caltrans standards, accommodating the existing two 11' wide traffic lanes, but adding a 5' wide Type II bike lane, and a 6'-2" wide sidewalk on each side, and a 10' wide painted median for approach left turns. This bridge spans over Indio Blvd and includes a parking lot below the southern abutment as well as community art features on the bridge columns. The Consultant will assess the parking lot located beneath the bridge and identify strategies for protecting or restoring the artistic features on the columns during the bridge replacement/rehabilitation. This includes evaluating the impact of construction activities on the art and developing a plan to ensure its preservation or restoration in alignment with community aesthetics. The PSR will also consider right-of-way constraints and alignment with the City's General Plan for a minor urban arterial road. For both projects, the PSR will address the specific deficiencies noted in the Bridge Inspection Report, propose solutions to correct these issues, and provide recommendations for complete bridge replacements or rehabilitation that enhance safety, improve structural integrity, and meet current design standards.
