The Village of Frankfort is seeking to retain the services of a qualified and licensed electrical contractor for the installation of a generator at the Public Works Facility located at 524 Center Road, Frankfort, IL 60423. Background The Village of Frankfort operates the Public Works Facility at 524 Center Road and currently is without a permanent back up generator. This facility is critical to the operation of the department. Specifications The Village of Frankfort is seeking proposals from a licensed electrical contractor to furnish all labor and materials necessary to provide a complete installation of a generator as indicated in the scope of work and drawing. Scope of work o The contractor shall field verify all existing conditions prior to bidding. The generator is to be located near the exterior north wall of existing electric room. Contractor shall schedule site visit to determine all gas and electric connections as needed. o Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, material, and supervision for a complete turn- key generator system. o Contractor to provide concrete pad 6" thick with #4 rebar mat. Pad to be 6" larger than generator dimensions. o Contractor to furnish gas piping and connections as needed. If regulator is needed provide as necessary. o Warranties: the equipment and installation shall be fully warranted against defects for a period of 1 year from the date of acceptance. Electric Installation: o All electrical work shall meet the requirements of the national electrical code. o Exterior conduits to be rigid. Interior conduit to be EMT. All conductors to be copper. o Contractor to follow one-line diagram to furnish breaker in existing panel for normal power, including 45KVA transformer. o Contractor shall furnish and install 100AMP 120/208Volt 3-Phase 42 circuit emergency panel. o Contractor to relocate following circuits to new emergency panel: all overhead shop light circuits, all garage door motors, and all gas fired unit heaters. o Provide all grounding as necessary. o The generator set (engine, generator, and operating controls) shall include the following feature: o Acceptable manufacturer: Generac, Kohler, Cummins, and Caterpillar. o Rated output: 40KW at 120/208 Volts 60 Hz 3 Phase service: Stand-by o Package: shall be enclosed in a weatherproof, rodent proof, bird proof, rust resistant housing on a poured concrete floor. The dimensions of the floor shall be adequate for the generator with enough room around the generator for servicing. o Block heater: electric, thermostatically controlled, 208 VAC, powered from building electrical. o Battery tender: Automatic, 120 VAC, powered from building electrical panel. o Generator Controls: The controls for the unit must be located within the generator area, on the building near the generator, or in the electrical panel room. This shall be determined by the Village before being installed. o Exerciser timer: An automatic timer shall be installed to run the generator for a period of 30 minutes once a week at a time determined by the Village. This may be included as part of the generator or transfer switch. o Transfer Switch: Supply and install an automatic transfer switch rated at 100 Amp at 120/208 Volts 3 phase. All work to be performed in a work man like manner and comply with all applicable, local, state and national codes and ordinances and the requirements of the local utility company. A diagram with additional notes is included in the bid packet. The Village of Frankfort reserves the right to accept, reject or negotiate any proposal.
