The City of Ogdensburg is seeking a qualified consultant to provide engineering services for the rehabilitation of the former retail store at 1223 Pickering Street into an ACE Hardware Store. The project is partially funded through the Restore New York program, with oversight from the Empire State Development Corporation (NYS ESD). Background: The City of Ogdensburg is seeking a qualified consultant to provide engineering services for the rehabilitation of the former retail store at 1223 Pickering Street into an ACE Hardware Store. The project is partially funded through the Restore New York program, with oversight from the Empire State Development Corporation (NYS ESD). Scope of Work: The selected consultant will be responsible for the following tasks, but not limited to: Preliminary and Final Engineering Design: Develop detailed plans, specifications, and design documents for the project, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, architectural, structural, lighting, signage, parking, landscaping, and stormwater management. Permitting and Site Plan Review: Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities and agencies. Project Management: Oversee the entire project, including construction bidding, permitting, and construction management. Coordination: Coordinate with the City of Ogdensburg, NYS ESD, and other stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Proven experience in delivering retail renovation projects using grant funds. Demonstrated expertise in engineering disciplines relevant to the project (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, architecture, structural). Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations. Familiarity with the Restore New York program and its guidelines. Submission Requirements: Proposals should include the following: Company Overview: A brief description of the firm, its experience, and qualifications. Project Approach: A detailed outline of the proposed methodology and approach for completing the project. Qualifications: Documentation of the firm's experience and qualifications, including relevant projects and references. Fee Proposal: A detailed fee proposal, outlining the anticipated costs for each phase of the project. Timeline: A proposed timeline for completing the project. References: A list of references who can attest to the firm's capabilities. Proposal Evaluation Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Qualifications and experience of the firm. Proposed approach and methodology. Fee proposal and budget. Timeline for project completion. References and testimonials. Ability to provide M/WBE participation. Selection Process: Interviews may be requested of the top scoring firms. If interviews are deemed necessary, they will be held remotely. The engineering firms under consideration will be notified as to time, date, and location of these interviews in order for the community's selection committee to ask specific questions to each candidate and evaluate their responses.
