The City of Gary Health Department is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the renovation of an existing 16,835 sq. ft infrastructure. The City of Gary is open to alternative designs & recommendations from bidders. The selected contractors will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and all required services necessary for the completion of the project as detailed below. Location: 300 W. 21st Ave. Gary, Indiana Building Type: Brick building established in 1974 Scope of Work The scope of work includes but not limited to the following: Site Preparation: Updating and upgrading infrastructure of facility Utilities: Upgrading utilities, including water, sewage, gas and electrical. Ensuring utilities are up-to-code Paving: Asphalt or concrete paving for walk-ways, parking areas, and driveway access Structural Elements: o Drywall Installation throughout building (Removal or adding walls) Finishes o Including new exterior, interior door, handicap exit door, main entry handicap doors o Interior & exterior finishes, including paint, tiling, carpet removal, and drop ceiling Mechanical Systems o Upgrading of plumbing (which includes existing restrooms, in addition to adding two restrooms), HVAC systems, and electrical wiring. o Getting up-to-code LED lights and fixtures Data and communications: Cabling & systems setup for data communications infrastructure for all office Roofing: Installation/replacement of new roof Additional Work: Any other associated construction work as per project plans and specifications Any Addenda issued prior to the bid deadline will be made available to the Public Works office.
