Description

Site work for a water / sewer project in Saint Augustine Beach, Florida. Design plans call for site work for a levee.

As of October 15, 2025, an engineer has been selected, however, design and permitting is scheduled for November 2025 to July 2026. Engineer firm information and a firm timeline for start of construction has not been determined. The target date for construction completion is August 2027. The City of St Augustine Beach has proposed drainage improvements and upgrading the substandard pavement in an effort to mitigate isolated stormwater ponding as Oceanside Circle currently has no stormwater drainage system. The roadway is a dead-end double chip seal surface with shell/dirt base connected to Versaggi Drive in St. Augustine Beach. The chip seal surface on Oceanside Circle has reached the end of its expected useful life and has begun to show significant base failure and potholes. Prior to roadway reconstruction, a gravity or pumped drainage system compatible with existing utilities will be constructed and will likely consist of adding approximately five (5) stormwater Inlets and 800 Iinear feet of 15-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) to reduce the localized flooding. The proposed Oceanside Circle floodwater mitigation system will flow to the existing Linda Mar stormwater pump station, which will also see upgrades during the course of this project.
