Demolition of Toll Plazas Between Milepost a-87.00 and Milepost a-131.00 in Carbon, Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary to demolish nine (9) existing toll plazas, including existing gantry structures and utility buildings. The demolition includes pumping five (5) tunnels full of flowable fill. This project also includes the widening of the exit ramp at MP A-105.3 and the repurposing of two (2) existing buildings, so they remain complete and operable. Work items include, but are not limited to: 13,368 CY Excavation, Various Classes 1,434 CY Flowable Backfill, Various Types 2,428 TON Superpave Asphalt Materials, Various Courses 7,082 TON Subbase (No. 2A) (Including Subbase Under Guide Rail) 1,379 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, 4" Depth 4,186 SY Concrete Pavement Patching, Type C, Various Depths 128 SY Accelerated Concrete Pavement Patching, Type A, 12" Depth 1,684 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Types and Sizes 42 EACH Inlet, Standard Box, Various Types 5,341.5 LF Remove Existing Guide Rail 8,275 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 1,890 LF Remove Concrete Median Barrier, Various Types and Sizes 3,750 LF Concrete Median Barrier, Various Types and Sizes 13,806 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier 1,116 LF Remove Temporary Concrete Barrier 228 LF Mash Approved Temporary Barrier 5,231.3 SF Signs, Various Types 2 EACH Temporary Traffic Control Signals, Various Types Milepost A-87.00 is located approximately 0.10 miles south of the SR 903 Slip Ramp Interchange, Exit 87.1, in Carbon County. Milepost A-131.00 is located approximately 0.40 miles north of the Clarks Summit Interchange, Exit 130.6, in Lackawanna County. Cost Range: $10,000,000.00 - $20,000,000.00 An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
