Demolition, site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Bourne, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.
The Cape Cod Bridges Program proposes to replace both the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges, improve the Cape Cod Canal area roadway networks, and address multimodal deficiencies. Each existing bridge will be replaced with twin-bridge structures, separating traffic in each direction to its own bridge. As of March 31, 2026, this project is in the design phase. Construction is expected to start in the winter of 2027-2028. The Department of Transportation is accepting letters of interest from design build teams until May 27th, 2026, ahead of a RFQ.
