This project entails the removal and replacement of existing CT and associated equipment on the 2nd floor and Linear accelerator equipment located in the basement located at UC San Diego Health - 1200 Garden View Rd, Encinitas, CA 92024. Total project square footage 2,029 Sq. Ft. The intent is to keep the project as an equipment "replacement in-kind" project with additional modifications to existing architecture and infrastructure only as necessary for the installation of the new equipment. The Equipment to be replaced includes aging Linear Accelerators and CT Scan Equipment. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in replacement of medical equipment and renovations to existing fully operational hospital or clinical medical or similar facilities that contain a high degree of technical complexity to accommodate equipment replacement and installation without disruption of services. Specific experience requirements include work within an operational medical building with limited staging area, upgrades to existing outdated medical spaces, equipment replacement projects, upgrades to non-structural building infrastructure as required for equipment replacement including additional electrical, and lighting upgrades, Project Duration: 130 days The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $5,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects with the Contractor providing services as General Contractor within the last ten (10) years. Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: urban site with limited construction and staging areas; renovations/upgrades requiring proactive and innovative solutions due to noise, dust, pedestrian/patient/staff traffic while the hospital is occupied and operational; addressing unknown and/or unforeseen field conditions in a timely manner while maintaining schedule; working within an infection controlled space; phasing/coordinating work activities while ensuring no impacts to patient and staff safety and hospital operations; and project complexity requiring critical path construction scheduling to complete on time. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate.
