Renovation of a residential development in Los Altos Hills, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a two-story above grade residential development.

Exterior Painting of 3 Residences & 2 Structures Paint the exteriors of three (3) residences, one (1) garage, and one (1) small two-story accessory structure. One residence is a four-unit multi-family structure with a four-car garage located in the District's El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve. The second residence is a single-family residence with attached garage and a small 2-story accessory structure located in the District's La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve. The last residence is a large 2-story single-family residence located in the District's Thornewood Open Space Preserve. The El Corte de Madera location is accessible directly off of Highway 35 (Skyline Blvd.) and provides good parking. The La Honda Creek property is accessible off of Highway 35 as well but requires a short drive to reach the residence. Most of the drive is on a private road that the District has an easement to use. Any ability to limit the number of vehicles travelling on the road on a daily basis is greatly appreciated. The Thornewood location is easily accessible off of Highway 84 (La Honda Road). All three residences are occupied. 1. El Corte de Madera (Hosking Barn). 16060 Skyline Boulevard, Redwood City, CA. Formerly a barn converted into a two-story structure of four (4) separate residential apartments plus a separate garage building. 2. La Honda Creek Residence (Dyer house). 486 Allen Road, Redwood City, CA. Located off Skyline Boulevard. Single family residence and separate, small, two-story structure. 3. Thornewood Residence. 895 La Honda Road, Woodside, CA. Large, old, 2-story house with easy access off La Honda Road, located in the Thornewood Open Space Preserve. Project Location The properties are in the District's El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve, La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve, and Thornewood Open Space Preserve, in, Redwood City, and La Honda and Woodside, CA, respectively Question Deadline 11/25/2024 November 26, 2024 Answers due . February 10, 2025 Notice to Proceed issued and Project kick-off meeting No work may commence until contractor has met all pre-construction submittal requirements and received a Notice to Proceed. The project cannot extend beyond June 20, 2025. Sherwin Williams Duration paint will be used and all three will have two colors applied. One color for trim and one for the body. No Bid will be considered unless accompanied by a guarantee in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Base Bid, which shall be one of the following: (a) a Bid Bond supplied in the enclosed Bid Form written by an admitted surety satisfactory to the District in its sole discretion, (b) a certified or cashier's check made payable to the District, or (c) a cash deposit. In the event a successful Bidder fails to satisfy all conditions for accepting the award within the stated time limits, the District may declare the Bidder's Bid Guarantee in default. Bidder acknowledges that the amount of actual damages the District would suffer in such event is extremely difficult and impractical to determine at this time by reason of the uncertainties, lapse of time, expense and loss of likely bidders resulting from the probable need to re-advertise and call for new bids. Bidder agrees that if a default occurs, the amount of such Bid Guarantee shall be kept by the District as liquidated damages and agrees that the District may then award the work to any other bidder or may call for new bids. Immediately after Board action, the District Representative will notify the Contractor in writing of award of the contract. Contractor shall provide District Representative a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, Performance Bond, Proof of Insurance, and signed Agreement within ten (10) calendar days of Award of Contract. Project Budget Estimated total cost of the project is approximately $350,000. This total includes the cost of general conditions, mobilization(s), materials, construction, clean-up, overhead, and profit. Q & A deadline: 12/05/2024 at 2:00 PM PT License Requirement: Class C-33 Painting and Decorating Contractor The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals, to waive any informality, minor technical defect, or irregularity in Bid Proposals, and to accept or reject any items of a Bid Proposal. The District, at its discretion, may reject as incomplete any bid which is in any way conditional, includes exceptions, alterations or omissions, or includes reservations to the terms of the Bid Proposal form, drawings, specifications, or other contract documents. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids. District will reject bids from any contractor for whom there is documented evidence of project schedule delays and cost overruns and / or documented inability to meet project performance requirements.
